About me

A GOOD HUMAN

Person

Culminating my experiences from schooling in one city among a homogenous crowd to undergraduate in another city among eccentricities of personalities pouring from across the nation, leaving me awed, I realized the importance of diversity. Hence, I pursued a global master's program. from the United States. These heterogeneous mindsets widened my perspective, and this instilled into my mind the significance of being around the right cohort. I firmly believe that the people we are surrounded by play a major role in shaping our personality

Education

I always had curiosity about the “How” of things. In 2011, at the school’s science fair, I exhibited my ‘Uni-car’– a unidirectional, solar-powered prototype with an alkaline battery for backup. The process of assembling the model and the concept of hybrid mode of operation piqued my interest in mechanisms of things, Manufacturing always being dear to my heart. My quest for understanding mechanisms led me to major in Mechanical Engineering (2015-19). My proclivity towards understanding business propelled me to minor in Finance (2017-18), which enabled me to understand the nuances of managing organizational finances. As my interest in this domain matured from “How” of things to “How to make it better”, to acquaint myself with the requisite knowledge in order to decrease costs or increase efficiency, or both, for operations in and out of a factory or a business, I pursued a Master's program in Manufacturing Engineering (2021-23), with a specialization in Supply Chain Management

Profession

I am a supply chain professional, passionate about innovation; having worked in high-impact roles with startups, at various scales, in Silicon Valley, USA; I have returned to India. I have gained 3 years of global procurement experience working in fast-paced, challenging environments, most often working with limited information, to optimize cost, delivery, and quality. I am a sound techno-commercial executive with a strong product manufacturing background and a demonstrated track record in negotiating contracts, and vendor relationship management. Having sharp business acumen and a bit of financial management literacy, blending that with operational and analytical skills, I’ve made informed procurement decisions to better impact the bottom line of the organization's balance sheet. With my experience in the procurement process, I successfully developed processes and systems for efficiency in the supply chain function at the organization as well as at the supplier’s end. This aspect of strategizing and developing systems and an environment to enable the supply chain stakeholders to work successfully, appealed the most to me as the impact realized is huge.
